Business Dispute Mediation
Resolve business disputes without unnecessary cost and disruption
Business disagreements can absorb management time, damage commercial relationships and become increasingly expensive if they are allowed to escalate.
Mediation provides business owners and other commercial parties with a confidential environment in which to discuss the problem, identify what really matters and explore whether a commercially sensible agreement can be reached.
What business disputes can be mediated?
Mediation can help with a wide range of business and commercial disputes, including:
- Disagreements between business owners
- Shareholder disputes
- Director disputes
- Partnership disputes
- Family business disagreements
- Contractual disputes
- Debt and payment disputes
- Unpaid invoices
- Customer disputes
- Supplier disputes
- Disagreements over the operation, ownership or future of a business
Whether the disagreement involves a substantial commercial claim or an unpaid debt where the cost of litigation may be disproportionate, mediation can provide a practical alternative to prolonged legal correspondence or court proceedings.
How can mediation help?
A court can determine the parties’ legal rights, but that is not always the same as finding the best commercial solution.
Mediation allows the parties to explore more flexible outcomes, including payment arrangements, changes to existing commercial arrangements or an agreed way for the parties to end or continue their business relationship.
The process is confidential and the parties remain in control. The mediator does not impose a decision: any settlement is reached by agreement.
